Critical Technical Note on VQ35DE Valve Covers

On Nissan VQ35DE engines, the spark plug tube seals are non-servicing molded components integrated into the plastic valve cover. When oil leaks into the spark plug wells—causing engine misfires and oil-fouled spark plugs—replacing the perimeter gasket alone will not fix the issue. The complete valve cover assembly must be replaced to obtain fresh factory tube seals.
