🚗 Engine & Vehicle Fitment
This specific ignition combination is engineered exclusively for vehicles equipped with the Toyota 3.4-Liter V6 Gas Engine (Engine Code: 5VZ-FE).

It fits the following iconic models:

  • Toyota 4Runner: Model years 1996–2002 (3.4L V6)

  • Toyota Tacoma: Model years 1995–2004 (3.4L V6)

  • Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (90 / 95 Series): Model years 1996–2003 (VZJ90, VZJ95 frames)

  • Toyota Tundra: Model years 2000–2004 (3.4L V6)

  • Toyota T100: Model years 1995–1998 (3.4L V6)

💡 Engineering Note: How This "Wasted Spark" Set Works

If you are replacing these parts yourself, you might wonder why a 6-cylinder engine only uses 3 ignition coils and 3 plug wires.

Toyota designed the 5VZ-FE engine with a Wasted Spark Ignition System:

  1. The 3 ignition coils (90919-02212) sit directly on top of the spark plugs for one side of the engine (Cylinders 1, 3, and 5).

  2. Out of the side of each coil, a high-tension spark plug wire (19037-62010) extends across the top of the intake manifold over to the opposite side of the engine (Cylinders 2, 4, and 6).

  3. Each individual coil fires two spark plugs simultaneously: one on the compression stroke (the power spark) and one on the exhaust stroke (the "wasted" spark).

Replacing all three components together ensures optimal fuel economy, smooth idling, and protects the vehicle's catalytic converter from unburnt fuel damage.
